Also known as the primate capital of East Africa, Kibale forest national park is located in the western region of Uganda and it covers districts of Kabarole and Kibale district. It covers an area of about 766 square kilometers and it is dominated by the moist ever green rainforest.
Kibale forest national park was gazetted in 1932 as a forest reserve and in 1993 it was declared a national park with a great intention of protecting conserving the logged forest reserve. The park is blessed with a wide range of impressive wildlife species. There are about 70 mammals, 250 colorful butterflies, over 375 bird species and about 1450 chimpanzee individuals living together in harmony with other primates of the park.
